New Tata Nexon CNG Launched: 30-Liter Boot Space with Twin-Cylinder, Check Price and Features
Tata Motors, one of India’s leading car manufacturers, has officially launched the much-anticipated Tata Nexon CNG. This compact SUV, introduced after Tata’s Curvv EV and Curvv ICE models, promises a groundbreaking driving experience by featuring four fuel options—making it the first of its kind in India. The Nexon CNG made its debut at the 2024 Bharat Mobility showcase and has been spotted multiple times during testing. Now, with a twin-cylinder CNG system and modern features, it’s set to impress in the growing CNG market.
Tata Nexon CNG Launch and Price
The Tata Nexon CNG comes with a turbocharged 1.2L, 3-cylinder petrol engine. This model has a starting price of Rs. 8.99 lakh (ex-showroom), with eight trim levels, including Smart (O), Smart, Smart S, Pure, Pure S, Creative, Creative+, and Fearless S. For customers looking for premium features, the top-spec Fearless+ S variant is priced at Rs. 14.59 lakh (ex-showroom).
Engine and Performance
This is Tata Motors’ first-ever turbocharged CNG vehicle. The 1.2L petrol engine produces 118hp of power and 170Nm of torque. However, when switched to CNG, it still delivers a solid 99 bhp and 170Nm. The twin-cylinder CNG system, with two 30-liter cylinders, offers better space efficiency compared to conventional single-cylinder models. The car also boasts advanced CNG technology that allows for a smooth fuel switch and the ability to start directly in CNG mode. Additionally, the safety features include automatic switches to petrol in the event of gas leakage.
Exterior and Interior Features
The exterior of the Nexon CNG closely mirrors the design of its petrol and diesel siblings, with the only distinct feature being the i-CNG badging. Inside, the Nexon CNG is packed with premium technology, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital instrument cluster, and modern comforts like a wireless phone charger, keyless entry, and a two-spoke steering wheel.
With the launch of this new model, Tata Motors aims to lead the CNG car market, providing a balance of performance, safety, and efficiency for Indian drivers.
