Tragic Accident at Kothrud Stand: Young Woman Fatally Struck by Dumper

Pune – In a shocking incident near the busy Kothrud stand, a young woman lost her life after a tragic collision with a mixer dumper. The accident took place at around 11:15 AM when the woman, identified as Aarti Suresh Manwani (23), was crossing the road on the Karve Road divider near the Kokan Express Hotel.

According to reports, Aarti was walking across the road when a dumper appeared in front of her, striking her fatally. The wheel of the dumper went over her head, leading to her death on the spot. Though she was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, doctors declared her dead before any medical intervention could take place.

Eyewitnesses stated that Aarti, a resident of Castor Hostel, Bhelke Nagar, had been crossing from the Kothrud stand signal when the mixer dumper hit her. The driver fled the scene immediately after the incident. Local citizens expressed their frustration and anger over the tragic event, calling for more stringent traffic safety measures in the area. The Alankar police have arrived at the location and are investigating the matter further.

The victim, originally from Amravati, had been residing in Pune for her studies. This unfortunate accident highlights the increasing concerns over road safety, particularly around Kothrud, a high-traffic zone.
