BCCI Unveils Team India’s New ODI Jersey Featuring Tricolor Design Ahead of West Indies Series

New Jersey Revealed by Adidas and BCCI in Mumbai Event

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) unveiled Team India’s latest One Day International (ODI) jersey on Friday, designed and manufactured by Adidas. This revamped jersey introduces a fresh element—a tricolor design adorning the shoulder straps, symbolizing India’s national pride.

The unveiling event, held in Mumbai, saw the presence of BCCI Secretary Jay Shah and Indian women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur. The jersey, aptly named “Harman,” was presented with Kaur’s iconic number 23 on the back. She personally signed the jersey, sharing her excitement about the innovative design and its significance for the team.

Women’s Team to Premiere the Jersey Against West Indies

The Indian women’s cricket team, under Harmanpreet Kaur’s leadership, will debut the new jersey during their upcoming six-match white-ball series against West Indies starting December 15 in New Mumbai. Before that, the team will play three ODIs on their Australia tour beginning December 5 in Brisbane, donning the previous jersey for the last time.

Harmanpreet expressed enthusiasm about the jersey, emphasizing its unique design and its role in boosting team morale as they prepare for crucial international fixtures.

Men’s Team to Wear the Jersey in February

The Indian men’s team is slated to sport the new jersey during their three-match ODI series against England starting February 6 in Nagpur. The men’s team has had limited ODI action in 2024, with their last series ending in a surprising 0-2 loss to Sri Lanka in August. The introduction of this new jersey marks a fresh chapter as they look forward to reclaiming dominance in the format.

This jersey launch not only reflects a fresh look for Team India but also adds a layer of symbolism with the tricolor design. Both teams will aim to make a statement in their respective series, representing the nation with renewed pride and unity.
