As Maharashtra prepares for its Assembly elections, the BJP has released a detailed manifesto outlining its promises for the state’s growth and welfare. Key leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and MP Piyush Goyal, presented the manifesto, titled the “BJP Election Manifesto 2024.” It encompasses a wide range of initiatives focused on financial assistance, women’s empowerment, employment generation, agricultural support, and technological advancements aimed at transforming Maharashtra.

Key Highlights of BJP’s Manifesto 2024

  1. Financial Support for Women
    The BJP has pledged to increase monthly financial assistance from Rs. 1500 to Rs. 2100 for women, referred to as “beloved sisters,” to enhance their economic independence. Additionally, 25,000 women will be recruited into the police force for women’s safety, with accompanying training on financial literacy.
  2. Farmers’ Welfare Initiatives
    Farmers in Maharashtra will benefit from loan waivers, and the Shkarti Sanman Yojana will be enhanced from Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 15,000. To support agricultural stability, a 20% conversion scheme will be implemented in alignment with Minimum Support Price (MSP) regulations.
  3. Food and Shelter for All
    To address poverty, BJP promises access to food and shelter for all economically disadvantaged individuals in the state, creating a safety net for those in need.
  4. Pension Increase for Senior Citizens
    The manifesto commits to raising pensions for senior citizens from Rs. 1500 to Rs. 2100, providing more financial security and support for Maharashtra’s elderly population.
  5. Price Stability for Essential Commodities
    To protect households from market fluctuations, the BJP has promised measures to keep essential commodity prices stable, safeguarding the daily needs of Maharashtra’s residents.
  6. Job Creation and Student Scholarships
    The manifesto aims to create 25 lakh jobs across the state and promises scholarships of Rs. 10,000 per month for 10 lakh students, supporting their educational pursuits and skills development.
  7. Enhanced Salaries and Benefits for Health Workers
    Anganwadi and Asha workers are set to receive a salary of Rs. 15,000 per month along with insurance coverage, supporting their essential contributions to public health and welfare.
  8. Renewable Energy and Electricity Bill Reductions
    A 30% reduction in electricity bills is proposed through investments in solar and renewable energy, promoting environmental sustainability and reducing costs for Maharashtra households.
  9. Vision Maharashtra @ 2029
    Within 100 days of assuming office, the BJP promises to release “Vision Maharashtra @ 2029,” a comprehensive plan aimed at addressing the state’s most pressing issues and promoting rapid development.
  10. $1 Trillion Economy Goal
    Maharashtra is envisioned as a $1 trillion economy by 2028, with the BJP committing to policies that accelerate growth, foster industrial expansion, and increase citizens’ per capita income.
  11. Subsidies for Farmers on Fertilizers
    The State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) on fertilizers purchased by farmers will be reimbursed as a subsidy, alleviating financial pressures on the agricultural community.
  12. Aerospace and Technology Hubs in Key Cities
    Nagpur, Pune, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Ahilyanagar, and Nashik will be developed as aerospace and technology hubs, advancing Maharashtra’s role in aeronautical manufacturing and space industries.
  13. Empowering Women Through SHGs
    By 2027, 50 lakh women, known as “Didis,” will participate in economic activities through 500 Self-Help Groups (SHG) clusters. These clusters will receive a Rs. 21,000 crore revolving fund, empowering women entrepreneurs and fostering local business.
  14. Support for Marginalized Students
    Eligible students from OBC, SEBC, EWS, NT, and VJNT categories will have their tuition and examination fees reimbursed, making higher education more accessible for underprivileged communities.
  15. Protection Against Forced Conversions
    The BJP proposes enacting strict laws against forced and fraudulent religious conversions, aiming to ensure security and religious freedom across the state.
  16. Preservation of Maharashtra’s Forts and Heritage
    Maharashtra’s forts, integral to its historical and cultural identity, will be preserved by establishing a dedicated Fort-Fort Development Authority to oversee their protection and maintenance.

A Technological and Economic Transformation for Maharashtra

The BJP’s manifesto not only addresses immediate social and economic issues but also envisions Maharashtra as a future leader in science, technology, fintech, and artificial intelligence. According to Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra will become a hub for fintech and AI, creating substantial job opportunities in emerging sectors.

Manifesto Crafted by Industry Leaders

A committee of 18 department heads, led by Sudhir Mungantiwar, drafted the BJP Election Manifesto 2024. Mungantiwar highlighted the BJP’s focus on development, contrasting it with previous administrations and underscoring the BJP’s role in driving Maharashtra’s economic growth and raising citizens’ per capita income.
