Pune 12 Sep 2024 : Grand Durgyani Temple Replica at Pune’s Ganeshotsav 2024
In this year’s Ganeshotsav, Chhatrapati Rajaram Mandal has once again mesmerized devotees by presenting a grand replica of the Durgyani Temple, located in Amritsar, Punjab. Known for its dedication to replicating famous temples from both within and outside Maharashtra, the Mandal has elevated the artistic scale with this 65-foot-tall, 42-foot-wide, and 64-foot-long masterpiece.
A highlight of the structure is the meticulously crafted 12-foot pond beside the temple. The impressive watch wall at the rear stretches to 90 feet by 35 feet, while the majestic main entrance spans 64 feet by 32 feet. The detailed art direction behind this elaborate set has been credited to Vinayak Raskar of Miracle Event and Sunil Shedge from Light Effects Madhav Stage Service.
To bring this magnificent display to life, 115 artisans including carpenters, welders, painters, and typists collaborated with expert decorator Kishor Hingane and apprentice decorator Virendra Atmaja. Under the careful supervision of Yuvraj Nimbalkar, president of the Mandal, and with the support of the Mandal’s workers, this year’s Ganeshotsav installation has truly set a new standard in festival decoration. The stunning replication of the Durgyani Temple is not just a visual treat but also a testament to the craftsmanship of Pune’s talented artisans.
