Team India Announced for T20 Series Against Bangladesh; KKR’s Influence Grows
In a highly anticipated announcement on Saturday night, the Indian squad for the upcoming T20 series against Bangladesh was revealed, and there are a few surprises. Under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav, the squad brings a mix of fresh talent and experienced players, with several Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) stars making a significant impact.
Nitish Kumar Reddy, a standout performer from IPL 2024 while playing for Hyderabad, has been selected for the first time in the national team. His IPL success has earned him a spot in the Indian squad for the T20 series, which kicks off on October 6. Joining him is Mayank Yadav, another promising player set to make his mark.
Varun Chakraborty, known as the ‘mystery spinner’ from KKR, has also made a return to the national side, continuing the trend of KKR’s players being featured in recent selections. Jitesh Sharma, another KKR standout, has been included as an alternate wicketkeeper, while key players like Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shubman Gill have been rested in preparation for upcoming Test series against Australia and New Zealand.

Rishabh Pant’s absence from the squad is reportedly part of workload management, with India’s Test series against Australia and New Zealand on the horizon.
