The Pune Police Commissionerate, under the leadership of Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, has implemented a series of reforms to address the city’s growing criminal activities.
816 New Posts Approved in Pune Police Force
With the establishment of the new police stations, the government has also approved 816 new posts to be filled in the Pune Police Force. Crime on the Rise: Pune’s New Crime-Fighting Strategy

Rs 60 Crore Approved for New Police Infrastructure
In addition to personnel reinforcements, the government has sanctioned Rs 60 crore for the construction of new police station buildings. This includes a substantial Rs 25 crore dedicated to the construction of the Bund Garden Police Station’s new building. Another Rs 433 crore has been approved for the installation of 2,886 CCTVs across the city to enhance surveillance capabilities, which will be instrumental in reducing crime rates in Pune.
