Pune, Wagholi – On the auspicious occasion of Shree Vijayadashami, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) conducted a series of processions across five towns in the Vadgaonsheri area of Pune. The event was part of the Sangh’s traditional street drive aimed at fostering unity and instilling a sense of valor in the Hindu community.

Processions Held Across Five Locations

Starting at 7:00 AM, the disciplined march was initiated in the towns of Chandannagar, Kharadi, Wagheshwar, and Wagholi, with the Vadgaonsheri procession commencing at 5:00 PM. A total of 850 volunteers, clad in the signature RSS uniform, participated in these marches, which passed through the main roads of these towns.

Purpose of the Event

The Vijayadashami festival holds special significance for the RSS as it symbolizes the triumph of good over evil. The processions serve as a means to “awaken virility and valor” among the local Hindu populace, reminding them of the values of bravery and brotherhood that the Sangh upholds.

Enthusiastic Public Participation

The marches, accompanied by traditional musical instruments and the slogans of the RSS, were greeted with enthusiasm by residents. Rangolis adorned the streets, and saffron flags fluttered along the routes. Citizens welcomed the processions with flowers and chants, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Presence of Key Leaders

The event saw the attendance of key leaders from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. The Honorable Union Leader of Vagheshwar Nagar and the Karyavah of Chandannagar were present during the procession, lending their support to the cause and participating in the celebrations.

This annual street drive organized by the RSS continues to be a powerful reflection of the organization’s commitment to promoting unity and pride among the Hindu community.
